National Drinking Cultures Survey
How was I selected to take part in the survey?
In order to select participants, details have been taken at random from the CACI consumer register, a database of over 40 million names and addresses in the UK. The database is compiled from various sources including postal address files and the electoral register in order to get a cross-section of the population.
Is the information I provide confidential?
The survey is completely confidential. If you agree to take part in the research then the answers you give in this survey will remain completely confidential and anonymous. Only the research team will have access to your form containing your responses. Your answers will be added to everyone else’s (up to 10,000 people) before the researchers analyse them. When all the answers are collected, researchers will be able to report, for example, that “most young people do not drink at home”. Your name and address will be stored separately and will not be linked with any of the information you provide.
The results of the survey will be published in a project brochure and in scientific reports.
